Subterranean Termite Treatments & Control
Going to bat against your termites in Garland, Plano, Richardson & Rowlett
Every year, we spend $4.5 billion dollars controlling and repairing damage left by Subterranean termites. Home Run's termite inspectors have been thoroughly trained to inspect your home, apartment complex or commercial building. Subterranean termites nest in the ground, in what is known as a "crown colony." These crown colonies infest structures from a distance, setting up satellite termite colonies.
How Do Subterranean Termite Infest Buildings?
Subterranean termites can be found in sub areas, attics, and baseboards. Mud tubes, which act as subterranean termite highways, can be found in all locations of the home or building but prefer moist areas like showers and bathrooms. Subterranean termites use mud tubes for protection from the environment and predators. Subterranean termites will also enter the home through expansion joints or cracks in the cement slab.
How Does Home Run Treat For Subterranean Termites?
Subterranean termites do not require a home to be fumigated. Localized spot treatments will remove a colony of subterranean termites. If Subterranean termites are found coming from your sub area, we typically recommend trenching and treating the soil and pier posts around your home. If Subterranean termites are entering through the cement slab of your home, we'll drill through the slab and inject termiticides. After slab injection, our technician will fill the holes in the slab with cement. Outside, sidewalks sometimes need to be drilled and treated along with trenching and treating the surrounding soil to ensure the eradication of Subterranean termites.
Subterranean Termite Protection Plans
Stop Subterranean termites from infesting your property with our termite protection plans. Once a year, our team will visit your property and inspect the home for signs of termite activity. All current termite activity will be locally treated using low toxicity, low odor termiticides. If no current activity is present, your technician will place bait stations around the perimeter of the property to exterminate Subterranean termites before they have a chance to infest your home or office.Termite Protection Program

Signs You Have Termites
Pencil sized mud tubes are the preferred method of travel for Subterranean termites. Subterranean termites require high levels of moisture to survive, so they protect their bodies by hiding inside wood or traveling inside mud tubes to infest structures.
During periods of rainfall or in spring or fall, Subterranean termites swarm to breed. Sometimes mistaken for winged ants, Subterranean termite swarmers can be found indoors near sources of light and windows - sometimes in very large numbers!
Like all other termites, Subterranean termites eat wood causing cosmetic and structural damage. Look for wood beams with holes, weak spots or pieces missing from them for signs of termite activity.
